I have worked as a counselIor since 1999 when I joined Relate and have worked at their Horsham, Brighton, Chichester and Worthing offices. Alongside this I commenced my private practice in 2005 working from home. During this time I have gained experience helping people with a wide range of difficulties including relationships, domestic violence, adult survivors of sexual abuse, addiction (including alcohol, drug and sex), mental health issues and working with LGBT (.Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender).
As my private practice developed and outgrew my home, in 2013, as my private practice developed I opened offices in Arundel under the name of Lanes Counselling. This gave me the opportunity to draw on the skills and services of other counsellors in order to offer clients a wider range of services from one location.
I have received extensive training in various areas of counselling over the years (including couple counselling, adult survivors of sexual abuse, bereavement, building confidence and self-esteem, domestic violence abuse, family counselling, sexual addiction, mental health, CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy) with couples, etc. and continue to do so in order to ensure I am conversant with the latest techniques and developments.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) which is a professional body for counsellors. I work from a psychodynamic / systemic and solution focused model.
