My Name is Lisa and I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of BACP and work to their code of ethics.
My training is in Humanistic Counselling and I incorporate Person Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Solution Focused theory into my work.
There are many reasons for seeking counselling some of these may include: relationship difficulties, family breakdown, feeling lonely or upset, bereavement, seeking direction and breaking down isolation.
My aim is to listen and enable you to explore difficulties in a safe, confidential, caring and non judgemental environment. Together we can begin to untangle patterns of thinking and behaviour that are no longer useful.
My work with adults has also specifically covered working with the elderly and those with mobility difficulties.
Alongside this I worked as a volunteer counsellor for four years in a secondary school supporting adolescents and at times members of staff.
I also have 16 years of experience of working in primary schools including supporting children with special needs.
For the last 7 years I have supported children in a pastoral role covering a range of issues including: bereavement, divorce and separation, anxiety, OCD, friendship issues and body image.
