Lisa

Hello and Welcome

My name is Lisa, and I am an experienced counsellor working with both adults and young people. I am an accredited BACP member and work to their Professional Code of Ethics, offering both long term and time limited counselling.

I am trained in the humanistic approach which combines Person-Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis models of therapy. I am also trained in the use of creative arts, such as sand tray, clay and working with images.

It is my belief that each of us is unique and that we will all have our own individual way of perceiving the world and managing difficult times. We each have capacity for growth and evolvement, and I will work collaboratively with you to find the approach that is the most helpful to you. I offer a confidential, compassionate and non-judgmental space in which you can safely explore your thoughts and feelings. The unique therapeutic relationship can help you to understand and overcome embedded behaviours, develop new perspectives, expand your self-awareness and empower you to move forward in the way that you choose.

I started my counselling journey in 2009 and graduated from Chichester University with a BA (Hons) Degree in Humanistic Counselling in 2013. Since then, I have worked with individual adults, older people and those with mobility issues. I also work with children and adolescents. I have four years’ experience of working as a volunteer counsellor in a secondary school supporting students and staff. I also have over twenty years experience of working in primary schools in various roles. This work has included working with children with special education needs, with groups, in a pastoral and mentoring role, as well as a school counsellor.
